Golfing girlfriends...

Golfing girlfriends are the best.  Especially on a trip.  So when my girlfriend Bernie said that the HSBC  Women's Championships 2012 was going to be in Singapore there was no time wasted. Before I could even totally clear out my calendar, the girls had gone ahead and bought the airline tickets and the hotel rooms booked. Most of the trips i have gone on with my golfing girlfriends never take any effort.  It's mostly spontaneous and always filled with adventure.  The golf is the centerpiece of the trip but there is almost always food... shopping and food (more about the food later...)!!!!!

This year the HSBC Women's Championship was held at the Tanah Merah Country Club in Singapore. Angela Stanford was the big winner when she defeated three other players in a sudden-death playoff.

Na Yeon Choi
The Asian golfers Jenny Shin, Na Yeon Choi and Shanshan Feng were all consistent and steady players and it wasn't easy to shake them off from Stanford's game.
Shanshan Feng
We followed our usual favorites which included...

Paula Creamer
Natalie Gulbis

Ai Miyazato

Yani Tseng

Michelle Wie must have been having nightmares with her +22 over after 4 days as well
as Christina Kim who ended with +16.

With Angela Stanford

It was Stanford's 5th career LPGA victory and having watched her that week, it surely wont be the last for Angela.
