Lorena Ochoa in Manila

Ochoa at the Longs Drugs Challenge

My forever idol  Lorena Ochoa (Former World No. 1 golfer in the US Ladies tour) is arriving in Manila this week.  I am so excited!!!  If you want to do a shoot out with her this might be  your only chance to do so. Check out the 1st Everest Academy Golf Cup at Wackwack Golf and Country Club.

She does it again

Supamas Sangchan with the WGAP Board

Supamas Sangchan of  Thailand won the 2014 Champion Infinity Philippine Ladies Open Golf Championship, making her the first Thai national to win this event for the second consecutive time.

After holing her winning putt on the 18th green, the 17 year old Supamas was doused with cold water by her teammates, displaying her braces and revealing that she was in fact still a young teenager despite the maturity she displayed throughout the three day championship.

Princess Superal
The local favorite, Princess Superal, came in second.  Superal was in stellar form and watching her make an eagle on hole 10 of the Forest Hills Golf & Country Club was such a treat to watch.  But an errant drive on hole five and a double bogey on the start caused her to play catch up with the ever steady Supamas.

Before & After

We got married in 1987.  He was a young Lieutenant then. Twenty seven years later (and a few pounds heavier) here we are. How does one stay together that long?

I have no answer really.  Only that love must have played a part. That and a lot of hard work.

Love is patient and kind.
Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.
It does not demand its own way.
It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.
It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.
Love never gives up,
never loses faith,
is always hopeful,
and endures through every circumstance
love will last forever

I thought I needed new prescription glasses

I've been wanting to try the shooting range at Eastridge golf & Country Club.  It's a few steps away from the driving range.  So this week when I was scheduled to play a round with some friends, I opted to shoot first before our tee off. I first tried the 40 cal pistol.  I thought it was a little too big for my hand.

I shot a few rounds which all ended in the alpha range.  Not bad i thought.

Then i tried the 9mm handgun.  It was the right size for me.  My friend Ian tried it out as well.

Next to fire was the 22mm rifle.

It was my first time to try a rifle.  It was surprisingly light and easy to fire.
But hands down my favorite was the 9 mm.

I guess i didn't need new prescription glasses after all.
