"Mum, we have to leave the house by 8:30 a.m. on mother's day to be able to get a table at Mission Beach Cafe for brunch" my son Christian said. "Sure, i said." My thought balloon though was, 8:30 a.m. on mothers day???? I can't sleep in????? Why so early for brunch? I asked my son. "The wait is at least 45 minutes to get a decent table and it's really that good mum."
We arrive just before 9:00 a.m. and there already is a line. Which I suppose was a good sign.
I had the dungeness crab with eggs benedict and my son had an awesome lamb and eggs entree. Plus the cappuccino was just perfect. But the best part is having your son take you out for brunch on Mother's Day.
